ABSTRACT
The present article is an attempt to review the history and progress,which have been made in the area of growth, characterization and applications of
Carbon Nanotubes.They are tubular graphite sheets that have carbon molecules at
the apexes of hexagons.The exemplary chemical, thermal, and electrical
properties of CNT’s make them the preferred alternative material for various
devices that include batteries, fuel cells, composites, semiconductors,etc.Thus the
birth and development of CNT has indeed sent shock waves to various competing
materials and technologies spanning various industries targeted by CNT.
